Badgers Holiday Club at Woodfield Primary School

Our Playsafe Holiday Club team are friendly, dedicated and experienced in ensuring that the children attending our Holiday Clubs try out a variety of activities, have fun and learn new experiences and skills in socialising.

Following the Playwork Principles that all children and young people need to play, they will encourage and motivate children to follow their ideas and interests and will support them in learning key skills, building confidence and developing friendships.

At Holiday Club children can enjoy Arts and Crafts with an extensive range of materials; board games; construction toys; sports equipment and regular Sports games and activities with our Playsafe Sports Coach.

This holiday club is suitable for children aged 4 years to 11 years (Reception class to year 6).

Our Playsafe Clubs

Our Playsafe Clubs are suitable for children aged 4-11 years but please note children can only attend our holiday clubs if they attend a primary school and are in Reception year to year 6. Children from other primary schools can attend the holiday clubs but must be in reception to year 6.

Free play, child-led play and adult-led play available at our Playsafe Holiday Clubs.

Outdoor play accessible during the day.

The Holiday Club provides breakfast for children who arrive before 9am and provide a light tea after 4.30pm. Parents should provide their child with a packed lunch (no nuts)

Our Playsafe Club Policy

Our Playsafe Clubs are committed to providing a child centred orientated club that cares for all areas of a child’s development in a safe and secure environment.  The programme of activities will be varied and challenging making sure that all Play Opportunities are offered within the session.  Creative, messy, simple cooking (on certain days and what we can do without use of an oven).  Drawing area, feelings area, construction building, role play, imaginative, book corner/quiet area.  Homework area where possible, physical – structured and free play, computer/playstation/wii where possible and outdoor play (where possible).

Each club will have a structured routine and planning to accommodate the environment available to them and the needs of the children.

The Playsafe clubs work towards a high quality play provision where partnerships with parents and schools is encouraged and valued.

Playsafe use observation, reflection and evaluation constantly as tools for improvement.

Playsafe Club Safety

To avoid unauthorised access, our parents and guardians are reminded of the dangers of “tailgating” and asked never to hold the door open for anybody else entering the building behind them.

The grounds of each of our clubs are totally safe and the children are always closely supervised.

Playsafe Club staff are responsible, experienced and professional childcare practitioners.  All staff are DBS checked. Our managers are all qualified and most staff are L2 or L3 qualified in early years and /or Playwork.

At all times, security at our Playsafe Clubs adheres strictly to Ofsted regulations.
